
Entrance procedure for the academic year 2010/2011 for study programs in the English language
Students who have completed secondary school education are considered eligible for medical degree study programs in General Medicine (6 years) and Dentistry (5 years).
Prospective students are requested to fill in (fully) our application form and to provide us with the specified enclosures of the
Application form.
Holders of A-level certificates (or equivalents) in particular subject with grades "A" max. one "B" may be exempted from the entrance examination.
Entrance examination(held in English) is based on:
- written testing (multiple choice) of
  the applicant´s knowledge of basic science in
  Biology (25 questions)
  Chemistry(25 questions)
  and either Physics or Mathematics
  (alternatives, according to individual preference)
  (10 questions)
- short oral interview oriented towards
  personality and motivation of the applicant.
For the examination
- It's not allowed to use any dictionary or tables
- Only a calculator is recommendable
Total number of students for the enrolment:
up to (approx.) 60 for General Medicine
up to (approx.) 27 for Dentistry

Terms of the Entrance Examination in Hradec Kralove
Entrance exams for the academic year 2010/2011 take place at our Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové (Šimkova street 870, Hradec Králové, Czech Republic) on May 26, 2010 (at 9.30 a.m.). Deadline for delivery all application documents required May 25, 2010 at the latest.
For Exemption from the entrance examination you need to apply before May 7, 2010 at the latest. Conditions of Exemption are described below.

Terms of the Entrance Examination abroad
Our agency don't organise the entrance examination in Portugal this year
Exams will take a place in Lisabon, Portugal only in case of minimum 5 students apply as a group for entrance exams in Portugal. We expect your applications submited
before April 30th at the latest. Students who are interesting in such exams please register
here.
Tuition Fees
The net annual tuition fees for English programs for entry in October 2010 were fixed by the Faculty at a rate of:
290.000,- CZK for General Medicine program
320.000,- CZK for Dentistry program
Textbooks, meals and accommodation are not included in the tuition fees.
Accommodation at a student's hostel is available. Students stay in flats with kitchen, toilet and bathroom for 4 students (with two double rooms) or 6 students (with two three-bedded rooms). Price per night is up to 150 CZK per night or stay is available in close Hotels.
Application documents required:
To consider you as an applicant to Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové you have to provide us with at least this application form. Further necessary enclosures must be provided in case of a successful admission by the middle of September at the latest. The enclosures are:
Secondary school certificates (study reports from each study year, list of subjects with number of lessons, leaving certificate, A-Levels, etc.). (Do not provide originals but copies officially verified by a solicitor, barrister or notary public - verification by school principles is not acceptable!)

The conditions for the exemption from the examination:
holding A-level certificates (or equivalents) from years 2009, 2008 and 2007
obligatory in the following subjects
1. Biology
2. Chemistry
3. Physics or Mathematics with grades "A" max. one "B"
(if these conditions are not met, you have to take the entrance examination)
max. number of applicants admitted this way is
the best 15 for General Medicine
the best 6 for Dentistry
The A-level certificates (or equivalents): must be provided as specified in the application form - copies officially verified by a solicitor, barrister or notary public
must be delivered to Faculty in Hradec Králové, by Thursday, May 7, 2010 at the latest
within one week (around May 14) you will be informed about the result by e-mail; even if not admitted, you can still sit for the entrance examination
Results of the examination
Entrance examination results will be known on Tuesday, June 1, 2010
immediately you will find them on our web page
the official letters will be issued after the entrance examination (on June 1, 2010) and posted to all applicants
Your feedback
by June 18, 2010 at the latest, all admitted applicants have to
make a decision whether to take the admission
if yes, to secure their place by
1. Confirmation of interest to study by a particular notice
2. and payment of a deposit of 30.000,- CZK

securing of your place)
If the above is not fulfilled, the place is lost and offered to other students according to the examination results, therefore, those not admitted primarily, still have a chance to be admitted later on.
